Number five of 250 copies printed. Three volumes complete with green cloth slipcovers. Sumptuous catalogue of one of the finest collections of Chinese ivories ever assembled. Sir Victor Sassoon, wealthy banker, real estate tycoon and builder of the magnificent Peace Hotel in Shanghai in the 1920s formed the collection while in China during the fall of the Qing dynasty. This set, number 5 of 250 printed was owned by Sir Victor personally and bears his engraved bookplate from the Sassoon Library. The Sassoon family motto, candide et constanter appears on the book plate. A truly outstanding set of this scarce and rare work. Extremely fine overall. Item #10885
